ACFE An international professional body dedicated to combating *fraud. Based in Austin, TX, and founded in 1988 by Joseph T Wells, the ACFE had approximately 28,000 members in 2003. The ACFE mission, as stated on its Web site, is "to reduce the incidence of fraud and *white-collar crime and to assist the Membership in its detection and deterrence."
