The CICA Web site states the board’s mission to be as follows: To "develop and promote guidance and related materials to provide opportunities for...focusing on improving the quality of corporate governance and risk management in organizations." Prior to 2001, the Board was known as the *Criteria for Control (CoCo) Board, and its 1995 *Guidance on Control has an international reputation as a *control framework of enduring value.
