correlation

correlation
The degree of correspondence between variations in the behavior of two or more items. For example, an ice cream retailer’s sales may be highly correlated with hot weather conditions. Correlation relationships can be calculated statistically, and analysis of this nature is often used to support *pricing decisions. See also *scatter graph.
