Fair Labor Association
FLA An international *not-for-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of ethical *labor practices. The FLA is based in Washington, DC, and its mission (as stated on its Web site) is founded on "combining the efforts of industry, *non-governmental organizations (NGOs), colleges and universities to promote adherence to international labor standards and improve working conditions worldwide." The FLA’s activities include the issuing of a code of conduct for labor practices, and the monitoring of adherence to the code by its participating corporations, which include a number of large clothing *brands.
