Institute of Internal Auditors UK and Ireland
The United Kingdom’s national institute of the *Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). Established in 1948 as the first IIA chapter outside of North America, the IIA UK became a national institute in 1979. The IIA UK is now an influential body for internal auditing and *corporate governance in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. It publishes briefing notes on internal auditing topics, and the monthly magazine *Internal Auditing & Business Risk. It also maintains a UK-specific certification program, separately from the IIAs main *Certified Internal Auditor program. Web site: www.iia.org.uk
